We seek educators and prospective educators who want to expand their creative boundaries and keep arts alive in our schools. Our partnerships with the Flynn Center for the Performing 艺术, the Integrated 艺术 Academy at H.O. Wheeler Elementary School, and other community resources have enriched the 艺术 in Education 程序. The opportunities from these partnerships bring real-life experience and energy to your graduate experience.

You may apply up to 18 credits of the coursework toward the licensure in 艺术 to the requirements for the M.Ed. 学位.

 

Our master’s 程序 in 课程与教学设计 provides teachers and 管理员 the understanding and strategies to develop and evaluate school curricula through an equity lens. “课程”一词包括许多方面:方向, 哲学, 设计, 发展, 实现, 评估, 和评估. Our graduate 学生 delve into these areas and progress as leaders.

While the primary focus in our 程序 is K-12 public school settings, you will find that the concentration is applicable to all levels as well as a variety of contexts in which curriculum is developed and utilized.

The goal of the 读写能力 concentration is to prepare classroom teachers to be more effective teachers of reading and language arts.  阅读方法和诊断课程, 以及临床经验, provide the framework that allows the graduate student to develop competence as a reading teacher and reading specialist.

An initial teaching license or equivalent is required for admission.

From courses in human 发展 to engaging in practicum in a local school, our 学生 learn the unique contexts and systems of special education. 此外, 学生 learn to build and maintain collaborative relationships with families, 学生, 的同事们, and leaders – relationships that are critical to effective and powerful special education.

M区的候选人.Ed. 程序 have the option to pursue a Vermont additional endorsement as a Special Educator as part of the 程序. (Candidates interested in pursuing an initial license as a Special Educator will do so through our 教育学硕士学位.)

所有的学生在M.Ed. and Licensure 程序s need to show proficiency in writing. This is assessed through successful work in two required courses: GED 516 Educational Foundations: Understanding the Past and Creating the Future and GED 558 Educator as Researcher. 一旦达到写作水平, 但在完成另外四门课程之前, 学生需要申请候选资格.
